John Calarco

John Calarco is the founder and owner of Power Health and Performance and a holistic health and performance coach. He founded PHP with the mission, to inspire, guide, and empower business professionals, parents, and youth athletes to become their strongest in mind, body, and spirit so they can create their best health, physical body, and life. John has focused the coaching at PHP on guiding people to achieve life-long health and performance success through a holistic, individualized approach and coaching each person to establish the correct habits within the 6 main components of health and performance which are thinking, breathing, sleeping, hydration, nutrition, and movement.

John realized his passion for health and performance at the young age of eight when he began playing organized sports. He dedicated 13 years to competitive basketball, eventually competing at the collegiate and semi-professional level. Throughout his athletic journey John had a deep determination to maximize his athletic performance and at the age of 12 he began to read books, watching instructional DVD's, attend camps, and work with trainers and coaches, that desire to learn has never stopped. Though he achieved much success throughout his basketball career he faced many significant health and performance challenges along the way consisting of plateau’s in performance, illnesses, and injuries of many different kinds. These challenges led to a great deal of learning and drove him to study health and performance at even deeper levels.

John received his degree in Exercise Physiology from Adelphi University where he also competed at a high level for four years as a collegiate basketball athlete. Throughout his professional career, he has extensively sought, researched and practiced the most advanced health and performance techniques. John has completed several advanced education courses in neuroscience and human performance and holds the top credentials in the health and performance field as listed below:
